Carroll, a former star of the Rabbitohs, was forced to retire from the game because of a chronic toe injury at the end of the 1999 season, the same time the Rabbitohs were kicked out of the National Rugby League competition. "It's been a long off-season but I have definitely got another game in me," said Carroll, who finished his 10-year first grade career with South Sydney.
